Inside every "Supermom" is a woman wating to be nurtured.

Diana Guintu

I’ve always had a passion for empowering and helping women. About six years ago, when I became a mother, I FOUND myself, confused, overwhelmed and feeling very alone. As a new mom, I thought that this was just the way motherhood was supposed to be. I no longer had the luxury of time off, quiet time, or time to self care and yet I still yearned for them. I felt guilty for wanting those things. After all, I wanted a child and I “should” accept the sacrifice that comes with being a mom, right?

However, on the other hand I had worked with enough women to know that giving up on you, only leads to feeling lonely, anxious and depressed. So I did what every “Supermom” does and I tried to do it all. I placed irrational expectations on myself.  I set out to be the perfect mom, the perfect wife, the perfect friend, and so on. I convinced myself that everything was as it “should” be, and ignored the truth. I denied that I felt confused, overwhelmed, alone, and lost. It was one of the darkest times in my life.

With the help of my support system, I finally came out of the fog. As a result of my own experience, I reached out to other moms and realized that many of them shared many of the same feelings I experienced. Some talked about feeling pressured to do it all. Others reported feeling guilty and overwhelmed.  While others struggled to find balance and joy in their busy life.

As a counselor, personal coach, speaker and recognized leader in the treatment of anxiety, fear, depression, and sexual trauma, I am passionate about helping “Supermoms” awaken the woman inside of them. It is my mission to help “Supermoms” live a more peaceful, balanced and joyful life.

Over the past ten years, I have worked with women and moms in various capacities such as; Parent Educator in high-risk families, Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate, Rape Crisis Specialist, along with other counseling positions at non-profit agencies. I have been in private practice for five years.  My counseling approach is holistic with emphasis on using the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  My focus is to assist you in addressing dysfunctional patterns of thinking, emotions and behaviors through a solution focused procedure while considering a variety of methods to reach desired goals.

My life experience together with a Bachelor in Family Studies from the Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s in Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas have prepared me to work with a variety of issues and concerns. .
